What are access arrangements?
Access arrangements are adjustments made before or during examinations to ensure that learners with special educational needs, disabilities, medical conditions, or temporary injuries can access assessments fairly. These arrangements do not alter the knowledge, skills, or understanding being tested.
How do I get access arrangements?
We offer assessment days at various locations across North and West Northamptonshire. Assessments must be completed in person with our external assessor.
The assessment usually takes approximately 30 minutes. If you do not attend your assessment, you will be unable to access the full range of available arrangements.
What access arrangements are available?
The following arrangements may be available, subject to assessment and eligibility:
25% extra time
Reader
Scribe
Prompter
Word processor
Rest breaks
Coloured overlays
Language modifier
After the assessment
Once you have completed your assessment, and if you are eligible for adjustments, you will receive an email from the Learner Support Team within 14 working days.
We will inform you of the access arrangements you have been awarded. Please note that if you are taking different qualifications, the arrangements approved for each qualification may vary.
Subject to availability.
