Study Programme
Background & Experience:
After studying English Literature and completing my teacher training, I started out teaching in a secondary school before finding my passion in alternative education. For the past five years, I’ve worked on Study Programmes supporting young people with employability and Functional Skills, and I now lead as a Curriculum Co-ordinator, helping both learners and tutors succeed.
Key Expertise:
English
Employability
Personal Skills and Wellbeing
Re-engaging learners with education
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe learning should feel safe, supportive, and free from judgement. My approach is all about creating a calm, encouraging environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence at your own pace. I take a “no shame, solution-focused” approach, because I know everyone’s journey is different—and that’s absolutely okay!
Additional information:
I’m passionate about supporting the whole person, not just their learning. Alongside teaching, I’m trained in Information, Advice and Guidance and Youth Mental Health First Aid, so I can offer support with both your learning and your wider goals.
I’ve also worked in customer services - I think it helps me to understand some of the challenges learners face and will always do my best to support you in a practical, down-to-earth way.
