Background & Experience:
Passion for sustainable flower arranging, teaching predominantly from a purpose built workshop in Daventry but willing to travel to other venues. Qualified to teach flower arranging for adult learning.
Workshops, Demonstrating and judging for NAFAS. (National association flower arrangers society).
I am committed to promoting environmentally conscious floristry and inspiring learners to develop their skills with confidence and creativity.
Key Expertise:
My specialism is in Horticulture and Floriculture, with a strong focus on sustainable practices and creative floral design. I bring extensive knowledge of plant cultivation, flower arranging, and environmentally conscious floristry to my teaching. This includes guiding learners in understanding plant materials, seasonal availability, and responsible sourcing, as well as developing their artistic and technical skills.
Teaching Philosophy:
Learners explore the history of flower arranging and develop an understanding of sustainable flowers and plant materials. They are taught core methods and encouraged to express their own artistic flair. Support is provided throughout lessons, including guidance on sourcing plant materials and suitable containers, as well as one‑to‑one help when needed.
There are opportunities to visit a wholesaler, giving learners insight into the commercial side of floristry. They can also purchase The Flower Arranger magazine at a discounted rate, gaining access to up‑to‑date techniques, styles, and news from across the flower world.
Additional information:
Opportunities are available for learners to enter competition work and join local flower clubs, either near them or with us. This can enable them to progress toward becoming demonstrators or working towards a formal qualification. We also arrange horticulture and floriculture outings, supporting health and wellbeing within the community.
