Curriculum Coordinator
Background & Experience:
I began my journey as a learner in 2007 and have progressed through a variety of roles within the service. Starting as a volunteer in Family Learning, I then became a Teaching Assistant and tutor before moving into a Curriculum Coordinator position. Throughout my career, I have never lost sight of how challenging it can be for some learners to take that first step through the door and begin their learning journey with us.
I hold qualifications in Adult Teaching and Careers Advice, among others. Over the years, I have delivered a wide range of creative courses, primarily for families but also within the wider community. I also teach cooking and sewing courses as part of our curriculum.
I am passionate about sustainability, healthy eating, and using creativity as a tool to support wellbeing. I believe in creating inclusive, engaging learning opportunities that help individuals build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their personal goals.
Key Expertise:
I specialise in delivering creative courses, including cooking and sewing. I also facilitate Family Outdoors sessions and deliver the 1-2-3 Magic parenting programme. Through these courses, I help learners and families develop practical skills, build confidence, and enjoy positive learning experiences in a supportive and engaging environment.
Teaching Philosophy:
I am a very enthusiastic tutor who enjoys working within the community. I encourage learners to think about the bigger picture and consider where their learning journey could lead them, while also providing practical, subject-specific learning opportunities. Whether I am teaching adults, delivering community-based sessions, or supporting family learning with parents and their children, I strive to create engaging and inclusive experiences that build confidence, develop skills, and inspire lifelong learning.
Additional information:
I regularly attend events across the North Northamptonshire area, where you will often find me talking to people about adult learning and the wide range of courses and opportunities available through our curriculum. I enjoy helping individuals discover how learning can support their personal and professional goals. More often than not, I will also have a hands-on craft activity for people to enjoy, providing a fun and engaging way to experience learning first-hand.
